When you visit the US or other countries, you will need to use Visa. For the US itself, there are several types of Visas you need to acquire. Each of them has different purpose according to your activity in the US. One of the types of Visa you need to have is the US G Visas and NATO Visas.

What are G Visas and NATO Visas?

Basically, G Visas and NATO Visas are similar to other Visas you must have when you enter the US area. And, just like its name, this Visa is specially made for you who work as an employee of an international organization. Or, if it’s NATO Visa, you need to use it if you are entering the US area as the employee of NATO.

These Visas can only be used to enter the US area when you are going to do an activity related to the mentioned organization. So, if you want to do other activities, you need to use other Visas. Moreover, it has a similar rule like other Visas type. You can only stay in the US during a certain period of time like stated in the NATO and G Visas. Otherwise, you need to ask for an extension or leave the US area.

During your stay, you also can’t work for other organization or employer. You also can’t enter and study at school or university in the US. You can only work for your employer. And, you are not allowed to do other activities.

The Requirement to Get G Visas and NATO Visas

If you plan to get the G Visas and NATO Visas, you need to fulfill several requirements. First of all, you must have evidence or document that becomes proof. This document must state that you are visiting the US for the organization you are representing or NATO duties. This is the most important thing you must have to be eligible for receiving the Visas.

If you are an employee of an international organization, you also need to provide proof that your organization has been acknowledged by the U.S. government and president. However, for NATO employee, you don’t need to do this.

For NATO visa, you also can enter the U.S. area without using it, if you are personnel of armed forces that working on behave of NATO Allied Headquarters in the U.S. or you are entering the U.S. under the NATO Status of Force Agreement.

What you need to do is showing your military ID, when you ride the military aircraft to the U.S. area. If you also bring your family, they must have a NATO visa. Otherwise, they won’t be able to enter the U.S. area.
